Invention | Accordion - Planet Possible

No.1 UK environmental podcast Planet Possible has used Accordion from Season 3 onwards. Across two seasons, Accordion was measured to deliver an average per-episode boost in listeners of 25%. 

People either listen at the length they want on Accordion, or they use the lowest duration version (say 15 mins for a 45 mins episode) as a super-trailer (often listening at double speed, so within just 2-3 mins you are in the "meat" of the episode) to see if they want to listen to the whole original episode (which they often do).

Many Accordion users choose the half or two-thirds length version via the slider bar on accordion.live. They feel it gives them the best of both worlds - enough detail to take value but a very efficient use of time.

Our audience research has also shown us that Accordion is extremely useful and popular as a catch-up tool to get back up to speed on episodes of a favourite podcast that you may have missed.

Northumbrian Water wanted to tell the story of their groundbreaking Innovation Festival in a different way. Partnering with Planet Possible Spotlight, we developed a package of recorded-on-location video and audio that gets across the unique atmosphere and impact of this festival in a way that goes beyond standard press releases and LinkedIn posts. A repeat customer, part of the joy of this project is creating different formats or story arcs each year (and harnessing emerging new tech) in ways that reflect that year's new theme.

R&D Project | Rough Cut - Tiny Jungle Studios

​Tiny Jungle studios take Twitch streams of around 2 hours in length and manually produce highlights reels for sponsors to check that their branded content campaigns ran smoothly. They approached us to see if Accordion could automate some or all of their process. The result of the development we undertook was a new product - Rough Cut - which can take in long pieces of video or audio content and produce a rough cut, saving the editor hours of watching or listening.

Rough Cut uses targeted AI to take the editor's instructions as to the kind of content that needs to be in the final version and produces a rough cut that includes all the necessary footage. Rough Cut then instructs the editor's video editing platform of choice to assemble the chosen clips directly into the timeline on their screen so they can finesse the final high production version themselves.

Tiny Jungle Studios was able to use Rough Cut to deliver finished professional work to their clients.
